Slow down this summer

There is something about summer that reminds us to slow down.

In the middle of busy schedules, endless responsibilities, and the constant rush of life, this season gently reminds us to notice the beauty around us, spend time with the people who matter most, and take care of ourselves, too.

As a heart surgeon, I often remind my patients to care for their hearts. But I’ve also learned that a healthy heart is nourished by more than medicine. It’s strengthened by laughter with family, quiet conversations with friends, moments of gratitude, and simply taking the time to pause.

I hope this summer continues to bring you beautiful memories, meaningful time with those you love, and a little more peace than yesterday.

“Summer reminds us to appreciate life’s beautiful colors, spend time with the people we love, and take a moment to care for our hearts as well.”
